Cowboy
This is a typical scene in the eastern plains where the "vaqueros" (cowboys) are a brave people no matter the age. I was looking these cowboys trying to get the bull and was a great show to me. My son, Juan Fernando, is a lover of the cattle and he puts this picture as wallpaper in our pc.

As time goes by
As Sinatra says in his song:
You must remember this:
A kiss is still a kiss
A sigh is just a sigh
The fundamental things apply
As time goes by...
This thing was a place where cattle were to drink water (bebedero in spanish) but it's out of service today

Marañon
Do you know this fruit? Because I didn't. This is a tropical fruit from the amazonia also known as Merey. Its fruit is a good source of vitamin C and I ate this one, of course. It was good (a little rare, but good)

Going to the Tunnel
This tunel is on the road to Villavicencio, the door of the eastern plains. There are two or three more on this way. The longest is about 3 miles long.

Good Morning
The Eastern Plains (Los Llanos Orientales) are a great place to see wonderful sunrises. Try tomorrow to see the sunrise in your city and tell me what you see. I invite the breakfast..

Crossing the River
As I told you, Vichada is a department with poor infrastructure because Colombia's cities are in the Andes with a better climate and best soils. This is the Bita river with virgin landscapes and a lot of wild animals.

Getting the Lunch
I was sleeping two nights in that house and they're chasing a chicken to our lunch. This a typical farm in Vichada, a region that belongs to the Orinoquia, a far land in our country. Vichada has poor soils and poor infrastructure but it´s plenty of oportunities.

What's that?
This rare animal is the Danta (Tapirus terrestris) and an unknown animal to me until now. It's the biggest native mamal of the Orinoquia. I found this danta in a little zoo near to my hotel in Puerto Gaitan, but some days before I found a footprint of it in the Bita River beach.
